Sheridan Station Ribbon Cutting

December 7, 2011

December 7, 2011 marked the completion of Sheridan Station apartments, totaling 104 units. The $100 million multi-family project replaces a vacated, torn down public housing development with mixed income, mixed tenant housing. The first 114 units of multi-family rental is 95% preleased and features a fitness center, business center, green roof terrace, health clinic, parking garage and rooftop solar panels.

Sheridan Station is a large scale transit-oriented new construction project located blocks from Historic Anacostia. The project includes a new loft-style apartment building and a variety of townhomes and condominiums. For-sale motor court townhomes will be delivered in February 2012 - three of which are presold.

The ribbon cutting ceremony held at the project, located at 2516 Sheridan Road SE, was attended by DC Mayor Vincent C. Gray and guest speakers included Deputy Mayor Victor Hoskins, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Chairman Kwame Brown, Councilmember Marion Barry, Marvin Turner with HUD, Adrianne Todman with DCHA, and Chris Smith CEO of the WC Smith.

The project, developed by WC Smith and designed by SK&I Architectural Design Group, is obtaining a LEED platinum certification. Funding for Sheridan Station is public private partnership, consisting of Federal government (HOPE VI), DC government and private sources.
